Notice to Our Members

We Are Upgrading and Changing Our ATM, Debit and Credit Cards beginning the week of October 21, 2024!

Effective the week of October 28, 2024, Government Printing Office Federal Credit Union (GPOFCU) will switch to a new Debit and Credit Card processor. As a result, all members will receive new Debit, Credit, and ATM cards.

All new cards will feature touchless (tap) technology!

You should start receiving your new cards the week of October 21, 2024, and you will be able to use your new cards starting on this date. Note that you will not be able to use your old GPOFCU Debit and Credit Cards on or after October 28, 2024.

Please Note:

You will be able to start using your new touchless cards starting Monday, October 21, 2024, but not before this date. If you have your card linked to a digital wallet such as Apple Pay, CashApp, etc., upon receipt of your new card, please complete the following steps:

• Open your digital wallet
• Set up your new card
• Delete your old card

If you have recurring payments linked to your old card, please contact the respective companies to update your new card number.

QUESTION: Why am I receiving a new card?
Answer: GPO has gone “touchless”! This is your new contactless, tap-enabled card.

QUESTION: What do I do with my old card?
Answer: After you begin using your new card on October 21, 2024, please destroy your old card.

QUESTION: What if my old card is linked to a digital wallet such as Apple Pay, CashApp, etc.?
Answer: Open your digital wallet, set up your new card, and delete your old card.

QUESTION: What if I have recurring transactions on my old card?
Answer: Contact these companies and update with your new card number, as soon as possible.

QUESTION: Why did the card numbers change?
Answer: GPOFCU changed their Debit and Credit Card processor, which allows GPOFCU to offer the Touchless contact feature on you Debit and Credit Cards.

QUESTION: How do I set my PIN for the new card?
Answer: By calling 1 (833) 455-3220.

QUESTION: What if my old card is linked to a digital wallet such as Apple Pay, CashApp, etc.?
Answer: Open your digital wallet, set up your new card, and delete your old card.

QUESTION: How can I tell if a card or payment terminal accepts contactless payments?
Answer: By calling 1 (833) 455-3220.

QUESTION: Does my account number change?
Answer: No. Your member number will remain the same. The only thing that will change is your card number.

QUESTION: Will my joint owner receive a new card?
Answer: If your joint owner currently has a card, then yes, they will receive a new card.

QUESTION: Will my joint owner’s card number be different than mine?
Answer: Yes.

QUESTION: What if the merchant’s terminal does not accept contactless payments? Will my card still work?
Answer: Yes. Insert or swipe your card like you would have done before with your previous card. Online purchases work the same your previous card.

QUESTION: How can I tell if a card or payment terminal accepts contactless payments?
Answer: Both the card and the terminal will have the contactless symbol noted.

QUESTION: Does my contactless card work in the ATM?
Answer: Yes, you can use your card to get cash, check your balance, and more.

QUESTION: Do I pay my credit card bill the same way?
Answer: Yes, you can still pay with the following options: www.gpofcu.org, in the branch, or by calling (202) 512-1067.

QUESTION: Will the fraud security number change?
Answer: Yes. This is the phone number that will appear on your caller I.D. 1 (833) 455-3220.

QUESTION: Will my payment due date stay the same?
Answer: Yes, payment due dates will not change.

QUESTION: Are there changes to my credit card limit, rate, or term?
Answer: No changes.

QUESTION: What if I am expecting a refund from my old card?
Answer: Refunds will still post to your account.

QUESTION: Will my paper statements and/or e-statements still be available for my old card?
Answer: Yes.

QUESTION: What happens to my current card balance?
Answer: All balances will automatically move to your new card.
